Using DAF to Aid Municipal Wastewater Treatment Systems

Municipal wastewater treatment systems are sized to handle specific flows and loadings. If industrial producers don’t adequately pre-treat their wastewater prior to discharge, the municipal plant’s biological system can be thrown off balance. Contingencies are put in place to manage these events, but increased flows or new industrial discharges can overburden municipal infrastructure.

On top of this issue, municipal plants often experience summertime algae blooms and elevated phosphorus concentrations. FRC designs dissolved air flotation systems to assist in biological treatment plant performance and for sludge thickening applications.
