The municipality was looking for a solution to their Total Phosphorus (TP) requirement of less than 1 mg/L as well as removing algae during the summer blooms. The city chose to use a single FRC DAF and flocculator both constructed out of stainless steel 304, installed outdoors, to reduce overall construction cost. The small-footprint of the equipment effectively accomplishes the municipality’s goals.
The combination of algae and TP removal is a challenge. The FRC DAF is a great solution because it can uniquely accomplish removal of both more efficiently than other conventional technologies. This approach saves time and space for municipalities facing both of these challenges at once.
