Meat and Seafood Processing
FRC wastewater treatment systems include fully customizable designs using highly-durable equipment, including Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) units, rotary drum screens, equalization tanks, biological treatment using Membrane Bio Reactors (MBR), Moving-Bed Biofilm Reactors (MBBR), Conventional Waste Activated Sludge (CWAS), and sludge dewatering.
FRC’s skilled engineering team is adept in designing the system to meet your unique needs, from a standalone product to a turnkey mechanical and electrical installation. Systems will be designed to meet discharge requirements and recover valuable by-products such as proteins and non-edible products for rendering.
Poultry
FRC wastewater treatment equipment has been used for decades to process poultry wastewater, reducing Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), and Total Phosphorus (TP) to their permissible limits while recovering valuable byproducts. FRC engineers have been designing systems for the leading poultry processing plants throughout the world for decades. Many of our original DAF systems are still in operation today.
Beef
Our engineers know that as cattle are processed, their blood, meat, fat, paunch, manure, and other materials combine to create challenging wastewater. That’s why our systems include the proper combination of our highly durable products, designed to withstand the gritty materials present in the water. Your ideal system will include the proper combination of screening, equalization, DAF, MBR, MBBR, or CWAS. With decades of experience working in the beef industry, FRC will analyze your facility and design the wastewater treatment system for your unique needs.
Pork
We have engineered an innovative system for the pork industry designed specifically to maximize the recovery of valuable by-products and allow for discharge to Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW). Pork processing is unique because of the scalding and hair removal phases that generate particularly high Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) levels to the wastewater stream. FRC is a leading systems innovator using a combination of products that can include screening, equalization, DAF, and biological treatment using MBR, MBBR, or CWAS.
Rendering
FRC’s wastewater treatment systems are designed to combat the high-strength wastewater created in the rendering process. As fats and water are separated from animal tissue, edible and inedible products are created. Spills from cooking equipment, collection tanks, and discharge from washdown contribute to wastewater. During the rendering process, high amounts of Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) are formed. FRC DAF uses a reliable whitewater aeration system constructed out of stainless steel 304 to minimize the fouling of the system and maximize the lifespan of the equipment.
Pet Food
Pet food producers render and blend animal proteins, vegetables, grains, and other organic ingredients to make dry or wet food, producing significant amounts of wastewater with high concentrations of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG), and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD). FRC engineers systems to include screening, equalization, DAF, and biological treatment using Membrane Bioreactor (MBR), Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR), or Continuous Waste Activated Sludge (CWAS). Based on the wastewater contaminants, FRC can design the solution that is ideally suited for your application.
Seafood
Seafood applications include whitefish, tuna, salmon, prawns, shrimp, krill, and many other kinds of seafood. Most seafood wastewater treatment processes require a system that combines fine screening, equalization, DAF, biological treatment, and sludge management. FRC has a complete suite of products designed to treat the high oil content in wastewater enabling recovery of this oil content.
