One of the largest producers of processed foods in the US had a large sweet potato facility with an existing under performing wastewater treatment system. The existing system consisted of screening prior to biological treatment with a lagoon. To improve results, an FRC DAF system was installed to prevent biological treatment upsets when high Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) went to the lagoon.

- Short Flocculator – The preconditioned wastewater, already injected with coagulant was dosed with a polymer to agglomerate the solids
- High-Rate DAF – Float the precipitated solids, yielding clean effluent water
