FRC provided a turnkey solution for a global manufacturer of residential and architectural doors. One of their production facilities with wastewater production in excess of 790,000 gpd had to bring their discharge into compliance. FRC brought in a pilot DAF System for proof of concept to confirm removal of the Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and a Belt Press as an additional cost saving process for dewatering of sludge. After a successful two-week trial, the client went forward with a full FRC solution including design, manufacture, and complete electrical and mechanical installation.

FRC Solution
- Rotary Drum Screen – Remove wood chips to protect downstream equipment as well as being used for furnace fuel
- Equalization – Homogenize wastewater for consistent for consistent wastewater characteristics. Aeration mixing is provided to prevent anoxic conditions and formation of ammonia
- Flocculator – Chemicals (coagulant, caustic, acid, and polymer) are dosed to precipitate the colloidal solids and heavy metals.
- High-Rate DAF – Float the precipitated solids, thereby removing TSS, FOG, insoluble BOD, and heavy metals to meet discharge limits
- Belt Filter Press – Increase dry solids content of the DAF, which is ready to send to landfill
