Solutions for Wastewater Treatment & Management

FRC Components

Reactor Tanks, High-Rate DAF, Biological Treatment, Flocculator, Open-Style DAF

Project Description

One of the largest beef producers in North America was expanding their facility which increased their wastewater volume to 425,000 gpd at the site. FRC engineers designed a solution to upsize the entire wastewater treatment system including the existing primary DAF system and secondary DAF system to efficiently and cost effectively handle the added demand.

The FRC Solution

  • Reactor Tanks – Chemicals dosed to precipitate the colloidal solids and oil emulsifications

  • Primary High Rate DAF – Float the precipitated solids thereby removing Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG), and insoluble Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD)

  • Biological Treatment – Remove soluble BOD and as a result it creates biosolids

  • Secondary Flocculator – Short flocculator to precondition biosolids with flocculant

  • Secondary Open-Style DAF – Float the biosolids, yielding clean effluent water
