Project Description
An award winning Canadian-based global pet food producer was combatting major wastewater problems consisting of high levels of Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). FRC engineers designed a turnkey solution complete with mechanical and electrical installation of the FRC supplied equipment to give the client a fully integrated solution and service through a single point of contact. The implementation successfully removed the requisite wastewater constituents to meet permit limits.
The FRC Solution
Rotary Drum Screen – Removes coarse and fine solids prior to downstream equipment
Equalization – Homogenize wastewater for consistent wastewater characteristics. Aeration mixing is provided to prevent anoxic conditions and formation of ammonia
Flocculator – Chemicals dosed to precipitate the colloidal solids
High-Rate DAF – Float the precipitated solids thereby removing TSS, FOG, O&G, and insoluble BOD
