Project Description
FRC supplies wastewater solutions for one of the country’s largest family-owned and -operated prepared foods companies at their plants all across the United States. Their production process creates wastewater with high levels of Total Suspended Solids (TSS) that must be brought below the required permit level. FRC provides solutions that not only handle the existing wastewater but are also designed to accommodate future expansion.
The FRC Solution
Rotary Drum Screen – Remove coarse and fine solids prior to Equalization. This includes small pieces of vegetables, sandwiches, and other small pieces of food.
Equalization – Homogenize wastewater for consistent wastewater characteristics. Aeration mixing is provided to prevent anoxic conditions and formation of ammonia.
Flocculator – Chemicals are dosed to precipitate colloidal solids.
High-Rate DAF – Float the precipitated solids, yielding clean effluent water.
Belt Filter Press – Increase dry solids content of the DAF sludge, thereby lowering sludge disposal costs.
