Project Description
One of the largest producers of processed foods in the US had a large sweet potato facility with an existing under performing wastewater treatment system. The existing system consisted of screening prior to biological treatment with a lagoon. To improve results, an FRC DAF system was installed to prevent biological treatment upsets when high Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) went to the lagoon.
The FRC Solution
Short Flocculator – The preconditioned wastewater, already injected with coagulant was dosed with a polymer to agglomerate the solids
High-Rate DAF – Float the precipitated solids, yielding clean effluent water
