Solutions for Wastewater Treatment & Management
FRC Components
Screen, Open-Style DAF
Project Description
FRC engineered a solution for one of the leading suppliers of fries to international fast-food chains. The wastewater coming from the existing treatment system at one of their potato processing plants was producing high levels of Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and Fats Oils and Grease (FOG) that needed to be brought down to below the required permit level. FRC provided a system design that could handle the planned expansion while also recovering resalable product. Two additional internally fed rotary drum screens were added to allow for increased flow rates and future expansion.
The FRC Solution
Rotary Drum Screen for Oily Wastewater – Remove coarse and fine solids such as potato peels, errant potato products, etc. prior to the DAF
Open-Style DAF – The DAF is fed the wastewater from the “Oily Wastewater” Screen and recovers the oils from the fryer dumps, thus removing a significant portion of the FOG
