FRC Opens New Headquarters in Metro-Atlanta

Atlanta, GA – July 10, 2014 – FRC Systems International, an industry leader in wastewater treatment system design and manufacturing, has opened its new corporate headquarters in Cumming, Georgia. The new facility will allow FRC to expand its staff and better serve its partners in more than 20 countries around the world.

“Our existing facility was bursting at the seams,” said Adriaan van der Beek, President of FRC Systems. “With increased office space and warehousing capacity, we are poised to continue a record of positive growth while maintaining our unyielding commitment to deliver trusted wastewater solutions.”

“This new office is just the beginning,” Adriaan further explained. “Our fabrication and testing facilities are also expanding to accommodate increased throughput.”

FRC designs and builds wastewater treatment systems based on dissolved air flotation (DAF) technology, which uses micro-bubbles to float oily and solid contaminants to the water’s surface for skimming and removal. These solutions help protect the environment by keeping pollutants out of local waterways.

Wastewater Systems that meet the challenges of the Poultry & Meat Processing Industries

It is common knowledge that poultry and meat processing plants are known for high water consumption.

Poultry processing consumes between 3 to 10 gallons of water per bird. For turkeys the usage is even higher. The water is typically contaminated with protein and carbohydrates from meat, fat, blood, skin and feathers. FRC’s Adriaan van der Beek explains, “We understand the challenge of treating poultry and meat processing wastewater and the major pollutants such as Fats Oils & Greases (FOG), Suspended Solids (TSS), COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) and BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) probably better than any-one in the industry”. In addition to the standard contamination there is a trend for improved phosphorus removal”.

Our Customized Systems

Our approach to wastewater treatment is custom tailored for each client, incorporating technologies that meet each plant’s unique treatment challenges and offer the re-use of both water and the by-products generated. FRC is a major DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) supplier in the World, a technology that provides excellent and reliable performance at a low or no chemical cost. We can also include complete SCADA packages in the wastewater treatment systems and adapt their control system approach to make use of the client’s standard PLC, HMI and control products.

Skid Mounted DAF Systems Prove Popular Among Wastewater Operators

FRC has developed skid mounted DAF systems designed to ship as plug-and-play units, ready to process industrial wastewater for solids and oil removal.

FRC owner, Adriaan van der Beek, explains: “Recently a small dairy in Vermont was in trouble due to a fire at their WWTP. We were able to mobilize one of our skid mounted DAF systems and send it out to the site for this emergency. The performance of the FRC skid mounted DAF system on FOG, BOD and TP removal was excellent. The dairy decided to purchase the system for permanent operation.”

More and more, industrial facilities are finding it advantageous to maintain small, packaged DAF systems on-hand for cases like those at the Vermont dairy. In addition to operating as a primary solids removal system, skid mounted DAF systems are equally adept in final solids removal, downstream of a biological treatment facility. Some municipal wastewater treatment facilities have found that a skidded DAF unit next to their aeration ponds can help with algae removal
